Prime Minister of Estonia: “We cannot give even an inch to Russia”

The Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaia Kalas, believes that the Kremlin’s main goal is to achieve its imperial goals through intimidation. Kaya Kalas announced this at a meeting with defense ministers and military leaders of NATO member states in Tallinn.

The Kremlin is talking about negotiations because, according to Kalas, it hopes to get something from him that it could not get by force. “That’s why we can’t give up even an inch to Russia,” said the Estonian Prime Minister.

Kalas believes that the world needs to adapt to the new situation during the war, and in relations with Russia, this means following 4 principles:

First of all, it is unconditional support of Ukraine. This support brings peace closer, so Europe should speed up and increase military aid to Ukraine.
Second, “Russia must be held accountable for military aggression, criminal aggression and war crimes”;
Thirdly, the price of aggression should be “unaffordable” for Russia; For this, it is necessary to tighten sanctions and ensure Russia’s international isolation.
Fourth – fully reliable defense is vital for NATO.
On September 8, it became known that Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland will no longer allow Russian citizens with Schengen visas to cross their borders.

The governments of the Baltic Sea countries say that the increase in the migration flow of Russian citizens is a matter of “national security” and poses problems not only for these countries, but for the entire European Union and the Schengen area.
